Spring 2020 Launch: The H.O.M.E.S. Collection

The H.O.M.E.S. Collection

What does H.O.M.E.S. mean? It’s an acronym for the five Great Lakes!

Huron
Ontario
Michigan
Erie
Superior

So this collection was inspired by things found IN the Great Lakes! Which forced me to step out of my home-state Michigan comfort zone (as far as designing nail polish shades go), since Erie and Ontario are over there! ✋👉

H.O.M.E.S.

First up we have H.O.M.E.S., a purple nail polish with turquoise, blue and lilac glitters of different sizes suspended inside. This one looks great in 2 coats, and is easy to apply with the glitters already in the polish.

Isle Royale

Isle Royale is a small island in Lake Superior. Isle Royale and the 450 surrounding smaller islands and waters make up Isle Royale National Park.

This color was inspired by the shallow waters surrounding the island.

Pearly mint polish with sandy and golden glitters.

South Bay Bessie

South Bay Bessie is a creature of not only Michigan, but also Ohio, and Canadian folklore. First sightings of her reach back to 1793, in Lake Erie. More recent sightings have been 1969, the 1980s, and in 1993.

Coral pink nail polish with light copper shimmer.

Here is a YouTube video taken by one spectator ;) I’ll let you be the judge.

Beaver Island

Beaver Island is the largest island in Lake Michigan, and is full of unique and rich history! I had the pleasure of visiting and exploring the beauty of the island this past summer! The sunsets and sunrises were spectacular and are the inspiration for this nail polish!

Metallic cinnamon red sunset shade nail polish.

Belle Isle

Belle Isle sits in the Detroit River and has spectacular views of both the Detroit and Windsor skylines. The island is a state park and includes three lakes, 150 acres of wooded area and several features including the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin Great Lakes Museum.

Frosted slightest-of-pale-pinks nail polish. Inspired by the island in full blossom and bloom in the Springtime.

Niagara Falls

Since this is a collection about the Great Lakes, I needed to show Erie and Ontario some much needed love. I rarely release colors inspired by things found in states other than Michigan, BUT this is an exception because the Niagara Falls, famed for its beauty, connects two of the Great Lakes: Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

Slightest-of-pale-pinks creme nail polish. Inspired by the mist in the air formed by the three powerful falls.

Turnip Rock

One of Michigan’s intriguing destinations, Turnip Rock is a small geological formation found in Lake Huron.

Oh Buoy! Big Waves!

I couldn’t get away with releasing a collection without at least one pun :) But for real, buoys AND big waves are both found in all 5 of the Great Lakes, and are both important for weather communications and predictions, used in the maritime field, and used and observed for recreational purposes, boating, and fishing.

True melon coral creme nail polish. A HOT shade in fashion this year!
