The classic warmth of the maroon nail polish harkens back to the rich history of Grand Rapids a city over 150 years old. The city is home to former president Gerald R. Ford who once lived a few blocks away from a house designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, known as the Meyer May House. Ford’s boyhood home and the Meyer May House are located within the boundaries of Heritage Hill, which is one of the largest historic district in the United States. You can check out the homes, many of which are Victorian Painted Ladies that feature maroon among their many colors. The Meyer May House is open for tours several times weekly and homes in Heritage Hill are open for tours during special events in May.
But, Grand Rapids is not just a city with a rich history. It also has a rich present and future, like the holographic nature of our Grand Rapids nail polish. There is always something new in Grand Rapids, especially when it comes to beer and food. The city is home to popular breweries that put local beer on the map. And, other breweries are quickly following in Founders’ footsteps. The Furniture City has become Beer City, USA. Grand Rapids has become a mecca for beer drinkers who are looking for something fresh in their mugs.
The rich present and future is also evident in the sports teams that make Grand Rapids their home. The West Michigan Whitecaps are an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and many of the young players who build their skills on the banks of the Grand River eventually make their way to Comerica Park. The Grand Rapids Griffins are an affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and it is common to see these grinders make their way to the ice in the Motor City. These athletes shine for their iconic teams just like the nail polish that we chose to represent G-Rap.
