Do You Have a Favorite ‘Theme Color?’

I do! Maybe you’re like me and are more drawn to things that are a certain shade or color! For me, it’s teal and turquoise blues! It’s like I’m drawn to the color how insects are drawn to bright light! Everything from my laptop cover, backpack, luggage case, bed comforter, to my water bottle and home decor items like coasters and air fresheners are all a tone of teal or turquoise!

All Colors Are Great!

Or maybe you love all colors, and you like to match your manicures to the outfits you pick out during the week. It seems each season tends to have its own set of colors appropriate for that time of year, like brown tints, dark maroon or mustard yellows in the fall, or pastel greens and pinks in the spring. Do you switch out your go-to colors to coordinate with seasons?

How Colors Make Us Feel

Perhaps colors make you feel a certain mood or feeling. When I see shades of my favorite color, it reminds me of my love for the blue waters of Lake Michigan on a warm sunny summery day! Memories of laying on the beach and splashing in the water with my parents come back to me. Blues and other cool colors have a calming effect. Maybe that’s why turquoise grounds me, and brings back memories and inspires creativity.

Happy colors are bright, warm colors like yellow, orange, pink and red.  The brighter a color, the more happy and optimistic it will make you feel. That’s why ‘summery colors’ are often describing bright and vibrant hues! Pastel colors like peach, light pink or lilac can also have an uplifting effect on your mood.
